Schedule Details

Day 1: Arrival KIA – Fly to Tarangire National Park

When you arrive at the airport and have your bags in hand, a guide with a name board will welcome you.

 

Take a light plane to Tarangire from the domestic terminal, and as you approach the airport after around 40 minutes, watch for wildlife. You will be greeted by an Oliver’s Camp guide for the hour-long game drive back to camp, which will follow the eastern edge of the Silale Swamp.

NB: The suggested arrival window is from 7 am to 2 pm. Local flights end at 3 o’clock. If you arrive after 2:00 pm, you must spend the night in Arusha before taking a flight to Tarangire National Park the following day.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Embrace morning and afternoon game excursions today to look for elands, oryxes, wildebeests, zebras, and the park’s numerous elephants. Finding the most incredible wildlife viewing opportunities in Tarangire National Park will entice a sense of adventure in you; your local professional driver-guide draws on years of knowledge in the bush.

 

After lunch, you could like to take full advantage of extra-charged activities like a walking expedition and a canoe cruise of Lake Gursi.

Day 3: Fly and driven to The Highlands

From Oliver’s, take a breathtaking 20-minute flight to the airstrip at Lake Manyara before continuing by safari vehicle.

 

Visit Mto wa Mbu’s market, where the stalls are bursting with colorful native cuisine. Afterward, take a tuk-tuk ride like a native to experience the village from a different angle as you pass through the nearby neighborhood and rice fields. You will be driven up the Ngorongoro Crater, along its rim, and on through the rugged but stunning landscape to The Highlands, where you will arrive about two and a half hours after leaving the busy, dusty town of Karatu.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

As a result of your accommodations’ great location, you can descend into the crater this morning and arrive before most other visitors to see the local fauna when it is most active. As flocks of crowned cranes keep jackals at bay, lion pride and hyena clans patrol among herds of zebra, wildebeest, and Thomson’s gazelle. Come looking for large-tusked elephants as well. The rhinoceros are another factor.

 

To help you get the most out of your outing, we’ll pack a picnic lunch that you can eat beneath a tree shade. You don’t have to be concerned about your devices running out of charge or your beverages becoming warm because we have seven-seater enclosed vans with power outlets and refrigerators.

 

Every evening, we assemble here for pre-dinner beverages and to swap wildlife-related tales from the previous day.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Experiences

Get up early and have tea or coffee to start the day. Before going on a game drive or a walk, have breakfast. Alternatively, pack a picnic. With an NCA ranger, descend into the Empakaai Crater and hike to the soda lake, well-known for the pink flamingos that swarm there and tint the shoreline pink. The Highlands is the sole property in this area that can provide a pleasant half-day tour.

 

You’ve heard about Maasai culture, so today, Learn about the Maasai people’s customary way of life by spending an afternoon with them in a nearby village. Consider shopping at a nearby market or accompanying the herders as they bring their livestock back to the boma for the evening. For the pick up to Namiri, a guide will meet you there. You’ll get there in time for lunch. Keep an eye out for large cats while en route.

 

Siesta time is to be enjoyed after a leisurely lunch. Take a book to read or unwind while taking in the sights and sounds of the bush; after refueling with afternoon tea, set out on a game drive for the afternoon or evening to enjoy sundowners. You’ll return in time for dinner and beverages by the campfire.

Day 7: Game Drive at Serengeti National Park

Every day, there are two game drives: one in the early morning and one in the late afternoon.

 

Discover the region’s big cats, including lions, cheetahs, and occasionally the elusive leopard, with the help of our knowledgeable guides. The large wildebeest herds also pass through during their migration between May and October.

Day 8: Fly to Ruaha National Park

On day 8 fly-in safari: You are arriving at Seronera Airstrip after a leisurely one-and-a-half hours onboard your small plane for the two-hour journey over remote Tanzania to Msembe Airstrip.

Following that, you and your guide from Jabali will go on a one-and-a-half-hour scenic game drive to the camp while watching for elephants and lion pride near the Mwagusi River.

 

Overnight at Kokoko Camp.

Day 9 & 10: Game Drive and Excursion at Ruaha Park

Explore the beauty of Ruaha. A typical day begins with a wake-up call in the early morning with tea or coffee. After breakfast, set out on your first game drive adventure of the day, or pack a picnic to bring along. Return to camp in time for a freshen-up before lunch.

 

It's time to relax in the middle of the day. Visit the spa or read a book. After that, take a walk or go on a wildlife drive in the evening with sundowners. Drinks at the bar and a leisurely meal outside are great ways to round off the day.

 

Overnight at Kokoko Camp.

Day 11: Fly to Nyerere National Park

Have a 45-minute ride to the airport this morning before your hour-and-a-half flight to Nyerere National Park; you should have plenty of time to take in the changing scenery before arrival. You might see hippos and crocodiles just on the lake shore during the 30-minute trip to Roho ya Selous.

Day 12 – 13: Game Drive at Nyerere Park

At Roho ya Selous, a day begins with a cup of tea or coffee and an early wake-up call. Have breakfast at the campsite or pack it to take with you on your morning wildlife drive. You’ll return in time for lunch at the camp.

 

It’s time to unwind in the afternoon. Sit down for a nap, read a book, or swim in the pool. 

 

Refuel with afternoon tea before boarding our boat to cruise on the lake and sip a G&T. See elephants coming down for a drink and birds breeding on the islands as you float past crocodiles just on shorelines and hippos in the shallow water from a safe distance. Go on a fishing trip after a boat safari. Tigerfish and many species of catfish can be found in good numbers in the rivers.

 

Drinks over the campfire and an unhurried dinner will cap off the ideal day.

 

Overnight at Roho ya Selous.

Day 14: International Flight

Enjoy the animal viewing on your final half-hour game drive from Roho ya Selous to Siwandu Airstrip, which skirts the edge of Lake Nzerakera. Then, relax on board your small aircraft as it flies across Nyerere National Park to Dar es Salaam, landing there after about 45 minutes, ready to catch your international flight and return home.
